oDesk is the largest online workplace, where 1+ million companies hire freelancers to get the job done.If you want to outsource all the nitty gritty details of customising your blog post a job on oDesk and watch the applicants roll in. You might need a logo, graphics, specific content or have ideas of how you would like your blog too look. oDesk is the place to go.
Building your Author Platform
Scrivener is the most recommended writing tool of writers and authors. Its affordable and helps you organise your book. It also has session targets and heaps of nifty calculations. Try it and I promise you wont go back to Word.
Aweber – The internet’s most powerful email opt-in service and email marketing/broadcasting tool.
Mailchimp – Another option that is easy to use and free for your first 2000 subscribers. Ideal for writers and artists who just want to share their art.
Hootsuite – Manage all your social networks in one place, schedule messages, engage your audiences, and measure ROI right from your dashboard.
Images and Pictures
Creative Market – This is where designers go for inspiration and great templates. They also have really good photo’s to use for blog posts and every Monday they give away free stuff! Worth signing up for just to get the free stuff. Warning: Some Photoshop knowledge is needed for some files but for others (like pictures) the come as a Jpeg file.
Canva – Create all your social media pictures and add text. Most are free but some some elements are $1.00. Designs look professional and you own them after you download your image.
Picmonkey – A free online photo editor that allows you to add text to photos, resize, crop, frame and even create collages. The majority of photos and graphics on this site have been created through PicMonkey. Love it!
Xero – Start your publishing or creative business now and sign up for a free trial. Link your bank accounts and Paypal account and watch the sales roll in.
Book Publishers Australia is a directory of Australian book publishers, but not any old directory.
