October Selection: Book Cover Designs

Usually I pick out a mixture of cover designs I see in my book stalking travels but this month I spotted all of them in the latest Goodreads Newsletter. Must be that time of year. Soon the Christmas novels will start rolling out soon. My favourite in October’s selection is the gothic grave one below. I’m hanging out to do a gothic grave cover one day (maybe a future short story?). Sit back and enjoy the design binge: Warning: I’m Australian so I spell differently: colour instead of color. Please forgive me.   Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits: A Novel by David Wong What stands out the most with this cover […]

From a Science Fiction novel that’s been on my wish list for a while to a dark YA novel and oh of course there’s a Historical Romance cover. Here are some book cover designs that have caught my eye lately: The Silversmith’s Wife by Sophia Tobin There are two versions of The Silversmith’s Wife, a Kindle and Hardback cover. I particularly like the one with the clock and moon but what attracts me to this story is the foggy ooziness of London and the designers use of light. Description: Stunning historical fiction, perfect for […]

June Selection: Book Cover Designs

I’ve been browsing the bookstores lately (mainly procrastinating) but along the way I found some book covers that I absolutely love. Since winter is here in the southern hemisphere I’m getting ready for some winter reading. Books are both from the big publishers and Indies. Hope you enjoy this design binge: The Flower Arrangement by Emily Griffin This beautifully written story explores the joys and sorrows of Lara, who opens a flower shop in the heart of Dublin following the death of her baby son. Don’t hate me cause I like girly covers but this cover transported me to a little flower shop in Paris but its actually set in Dublin. Very realistic […]
